Mission Statement

Firemakers does men’s work. This means that in gatherings of (mostly) men we work on healing, inspiration, support, growth and leadership of men. It means we spread “living and honouring brotherhood”, by means of events, trainings and publicity. It means we partner with people and organisations who do the same. All in all it means we form a community in which men can land, relax, take a look in the mirror, and walk their way towards mature masculinity.

Firemakers works on this mission in 4 different areas:

1. Creating spaces for self-realisation

We create spaces where men can come together. Safety, authenticity, respect, effort, and commitment play a big part in this. That way a space occurs in which men do not need to worry about self-preservation, survival, competition, living up to the norm… instead they van focus on who they are, what is alive in them, and finding ways to be their (mature) self more and more.

2. Activating leadership in every man

Who are you if you experience that you are the one who can make a choice to listen to a certain voice inside?  And how can you inspire others in taking this step?

3. Initiating & inspiring the next generation

We bring back the initiations. So young men can step into adulthood in a healthy way, supported by the community. This way they have a bigger chance to live a conscious, mature and fulfilling life.

4. Creating Fertile Ground for Men's Work

To enlarge the impact of men’s work, we work on the acquaintance, spread and acceptance of it in society. So men’s work becomes more accessible for all men, more men can develop themselves in a healthy way and mature masculinity becomes part of the New Normal.
