About Firemakers

You can get to know the men involved with Firemakers in several ways. Many of us walk a path of growth within the foundation — and along that path come different roles and responsibilities.
So you may encounter some of the same men in different places within Firemakers.

The Foundation

Firemakers foundation was founded in 2020 by a group of inspired men, who felt they wanted to put men’s work in the world in a more organised way. They had met and got to know each other through men circles, men trainings and the European Festival of Brotherhood and they felt the fire burning.

In the end they chose a foundation as form of organisation, because the founders thought the idealistic part of this work to be the most important. You can read more about this in the Vision and The Big Why. The essence is that according to us men’s work doesn’t revolve around who facilitates is, but around the connection between participants and their connection to the fire that brings us together: the Fire of Brotherhood.

Firemakers are therefore literally Fire-makers: men who ignite a fire. A fire as a place to come together. A fire as a beacon in the night. A fire as a source of heat, where one can take of his coat and show himself: brave, vulnerable, open. A fire as a means of transforming frustrations, powerlessness, pain, grief, fear and being overwhelmed into vigor, communication, creativity, connection and solidarity.

To make this work, all people connected to Firemakers embrace a number of Standards. We try to deepen together what makes us Firemakers, our culture and history. And we make room for men who want to take steps in personal leadership. In Who we are we show you who at this moment actively propagates these standards, culture and personal leadership within Firemakers.
